• Question: how is a scar created? someone told me once its when the skin is trying to heal (from the ripping of the flesh) so quickly, that it does heal it over, but it isnt the neatest way of doing it. is that true? or is there another reason for a scar to appear? x

A scar is tissue that isn’t as functional as the original, and can be in skin or other organs. It isn’t as flexible and doesn’t have as many nerves or blood vessels (hence the pale appearance). It’s a natural part of the wound repair process, but the amount of scar tissue produced depends on the injury.
