At the minute I spend about 10 hours a week in my lab…although I have just started collecting data for a study I am doing over the next 2 years so this is likley to double or even triple for a while. It depends on the point I am at in a project as to how many hours I spend in the lab really!

I do about a 50 hour week, some in the lab, some in my office, some in the field, some at home. I spend very little time actually doing experiments – I mostly supervise the people that do the experiments.

I’m not doing any work in a lab at the moment. So I spend my time in my office and going out to doctors surgeries to meet with doctors and nurses who will help us run our next study. When I am collecting data I might spend about 15 hours in the lab a week.

Very little, as most of the time i’m in my office writing papers and applying for money!
