I have only been a scientist for a year. I graduated last June, I did a degree in sport and exercise science, and then started being a scientist in July. So i haven’t been a scientist for long but its lots of fun.

I’ve been a scientist for 6 years, although the first 3 and a half years I was doing my PhD so I didn’t get paid to work. I’ve been a paid scientist for 2 and a half years.

Since 1981-ish, so nearly 30 years! I became an engineer 10 years ago for a challenge!

I finished my first degree over a decade ago, so I guess I’ve been a scientist since then. There was definitely a turning point in early 2000, when I was sat on a bed in a hotel in Cape Town, South Africa, preparing to give a talk on my research when I suddenly realised that I had become a scientist.

I have been a scientist for nearly a year! I graduated about 2 years ago and my degree was in sport and exercise science. I got to do a little bit of scientific research during my degree but not as much as I do now! I hope to be a scientist for the rest of the time I work though…it’s a lot of fun and I enjoy learning new things.
