My work will still go ahead without the prize money…but the people who take part in it will not get as much out of it and I will not be able to let as many people know about the opportunity they have to take part in my research with Aston Villa!

I plan to use the money to make sure I can let as many people know about my research as possible so they have to chance to take part…and also if they do take part… to hopefully give them something to remember it by make it a enjoyable experience!

The same, but less people will know about it.

To do my work I have to apply to different funding councils and charities and bid for millions of pounds by convincing them that my work is the most pressing thing that their money could be spent on. The prize money will just help me spread the word about the research we’re doing!

Without the prize money my work will still continue What theprize money will do is allow me to share my work with the public so that they can benefit from mine and others findings. Also for me the prize money could help me to win more money in the future to keep my research on going. To win more money to research the funders will like to see that I am talking to the public about my work. So just being involved in I’m a scientist will help me and If I win and get to host my public engagement event it will help me even more.

I will just keep asking funding bodies and industry to support me. In my research career I have managed to get around £8 million to spend directly on the research. Not on me unfortunately! That money is getting less each year because of the financial problems the world is suffering.

My work will still progress without the prize money however without the prize money i may not be able to go to conferences or to schools to tell people about what i am doing. I am also doing some small experiments at the moment which i am funding myself therefore if i had the prize money i could use it to do more analysis on my data to see if what i have done works.
