Around £50,000 or more, depending on consultancy. A decent amount, but a lot less than I’d be paid outside academia!

It’s fine to ask questions like that to me. I get paid about £30,000, This will go up as I get more experienced at my job.

Not alot as at the minute I am classed as a post graduate student as I am doing a PhD. This is a research degree you can apply to do after you have finished your degree. I think I get about £1,000 a month so it is enough to live comfortably (I have a car…(an old car)….and can afford to go to topshop quite alot!) …but I am not going to be buying a house anytime soon.

Some scientists can get paid alot more though…especially ones who work as consultants for top sports people and work as their sports psychologist and nutritionists. Some really good scientists can win the nobel peace prize and they get around 1 million pounds! but you have to have made a groundbreaking discovery to win this. For example….In 1897 Sir Joseph John Thomson discovered the electron (you learn about these alot in chemistry..they are things which make up atoms) and he was awarded the nobel prize in 1906!
