      There are three reasons.
      1. Exercise may be better for the patient. Drugs have so many nasty and sometimes hidden side effects so if exercise is a much better option if it can work.

      2. Exercise is also much much cheaper than drugs so if we can use exercise to prevent or manage disease the NHS can spend their money on treating other diseases which can not be changed by exercising.

      3. I think that by exercising people are taking responsibility for their health and not relieing on the easier option of drugs. If people start taking responsibility for their health they are likely to start taking responsibility for other things like their impact upon society and the planet so in the long run it might have an impact on creating a better place for us all to live.

      Using exercise instead of drugs isn’t just my idea, it’s an idea which has come out of a lot of work from a lot of different exercise scientists… I am just carrying on the work and adding to what we know.
