I don’t know that correct answer and this is what i think…I think that birds and animals are a lot more in tune with nature than humans that’s why they know when there’s going to be a storm, they sense a change in energy. I think that humans have the potential to be in tune with nature too, we probably were thousands and thousands of years ago. But we’ve stopped paying attention to the energy around us and we’ve lost a lot of our connection to nature.

I didn’t know that the birds stop singing, perhaps they do for cover when it starts raining or perhaps the thunder is so loud we can’t hear the birds. Sorry i can’t give you a definite answer.

I’m not sure about this. Maybe it is because animals in general can sense things sooner than humans…for example…when a dog barks before the post man gets anywhere near the letter box! Or…they might just stop singing because they are scared and have run for cover! If I was a bird and knew there was a storm I definitely wouldn’t hang around to sing about it..I would fly to somewhere I would be kept safe and dry!

I suspect that they are picking up on the change in atmospheric pressure (the same thing that gives some people a headache when there’s a storm coming).

Birds can sense small changes in pressure and so as a storm is approaching they can “feel” it coming. Anxiety sets in and they fall silent.
