• Question: why are blondes considered to be dumb?

      I think it’s Hollywood rather than science. I know some very clever blondes and some very dumb brunettes!

      I have no idea but i don’t like it being blonde myself. Its a stereotype that may have come from barbies but other than that i’m not sure why people think blondes are dumb- they aren’t i promise!!

      This is to do with stereotypes….where you assume someone is a certain way because of they way they look. I think it probably came from something to do with the Barbie doll (being plastic and an “airhead”)! And barbies were orginally all blonde..so maybe thats where the stereotype came from. It is a bit like when people assume scientists all have big grey frizzy hair and glasses and do crazy experiments in a maze of test tubes! this isn’t always true as I’m sure you have learnt this week 🙂
