• Question: Why did you decide that you were going to use your prize money to take students on a trip? How would this benefit you and your work?

      The idea is to show the students what there is to science and engineering, how it can be fun and to kill some myths. Part of the trip will be focused on explaining our research and how it is applied. It’ll benefit me because more students will become aware of my work, and maybe more students will apply to University.

      Also one of the issues that we have in this local area is called “poverty of aspirations” – people don’t realise what they can be. I could help.
