The research I am carrying out at the minute is using football players as an example. ..however..the things we find out will apply to all other sports young people play like cricket, hockey, netball, rugby etc….. we chose football because out of all the sports young people play this seems to be the most popular and the most accessible (everyone has a chance to play it!..even if it is just in the park with friends). Once we find out how participation in football can help young people to stay fit and healthy we will apply this to other sports like cricket and we can compare them and show that they are all good for your health!

Plus..a lot of the young people who are taking part in this research dont play football..they play other sports like you do and they are helping us to learn more about how active young people are and what we need to do to help those people who are not active to get moving! I love to play hockey and I am learning so much about how hockey is good for me as I keep trying on the activity monitors we wear to measure peoples activity. it is really interesting…the other day i burnt 700 calories in a hockey game!
